Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 27 Aug 2025

Thank you for choosing Optozap. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you visit our website or use Optozap's tools and converters.

Information We Collect

  • Usage data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage statistics (for example: pages visited, duration, browser type, and basic device information). This helps us improve the site and diagnose issues. The data collected by Google Analytics is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
  • Payment information: If you purchase a Pro License we use Stripe to process payments. Optozap does not store full payment card details — Stripe handles payment collection and storage according to Stripe's privacy and security practices. We may retain transaction records (order number, amount, timestamp, and the email address used for the purchase) for billing, refunds, and support purposes.
  • Account information: If you create an account, we store minimal account details such as your email address and any profile information you choose to provide.

Data Processing and Converters

Optozap's converters and client-side tools process files entirely in your web browser. Files used with these in-browser converters are not uploaded to Optozap's servers and remain on your device during processing. Optozap does not perform server-side processing for these conversion features.

If you provide any content via other features that explicitly require uploading (for example, to save a project or use a specific server-side feature), we will make it clear and obtain your consent before uploading.

How We Use Information

  • Improve the service and website (via aggregated Google Analytics data).
  • Process purchases, provide receipts, and handle refunds (via Stripe and our transaction records).
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Analytics: used for anonymous usage statistics. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking through your browser settings or using browser add-ons that disable Google Analytics.
  • Stripe: used to process payments. For Stripe's privacy practices, please see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and improve your experience (for example, to remember preferences). Third-party services like Google Analytics may also use cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Data Retention

We retain transaction records and account information as long as necessary for business, legal, or tax purposes, or to provide support (for example, to process refunds as described in our Terms). Usage analytics are retained in aggregated or anonymised form.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information in our systems. However, no system is completely secure — please keep your account credentials safe. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at [email protected].

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date.
